Rick And Morty Season 4 Coming Out Soon...
Rick and Morty fans have been waiting over a year and a half for new episodes of their favorite show and very recently a brand new promo clip dropped to wet their appetite even further.
The clip features unusual renderings of the two titular characters floating through a surreal version of space while ASMR-rich voices whisper their names. As weird as it may be, the 15-second clip is all that fans have to go on and provides no clear indication of a release date.
Earlier this year writer/producer Ryan Ridley said: "I know how long this show takes to write, let alone animate. I'd be surprised if there was a fourth season on the air anytime sooner than 2019... late 2019." but with any form of luck, fans can view this clip as an indication that episodes may be coming sooner than later.
Rick and Morty was created for Adult Swim back in 2013 by Community creator Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland who voices Earl of Lemongrab on Adventure Time.
The show follows the adventures of Rick, a mad scientist, and his high-strung grandson Morty, as they explore alternate timelines, time travel, and alien planets.
From this information alone, it could easily be family-friendly programming but rest assured it isn’t, with the series regularly exploring themes of substance abuse, suicide, and mental illness all while keeping fans roaring with laughter. Since its inception, the series has garnered a die-hard fan base that regularly push the series’ creators for new content through social media.
Currently, all three seasons are available on Netflix in select regions but with fans clamoring for more and a new teaser now available, what do we know for sure?

Despite the cryptic new teaser footage, fans on Twitter hardly seem appeased and are pushing for more details.
One user replied to the clip saying: “GIVE US SEASON 4”, all in caps, while another said: “Armathy is disappointed there is no date.” and yet another said: “I’d be more proud if we had an idea when Rick and Morty season 4 would be released.” meanwhile, fans are hashtagging their grievances with “#ineedrickandmortyback”. Unfortunately, it is pretty unlikely that any amount of pressure will actually speed up production, but the good news is that episodes are coming, in fact, earlier in the year it was confirmed that Adult Swim had ordered an additional seventy episodes, that's a good sign, but there’s no telling how many seasons those episodes will take place over.
Given the typical length of a season though, this order could mean as many as 5 more seasons of animated sci-fi mayhem.
Despite this glimmer of hope, the show’s die-hard fan base continues to call out for new episodes sooner than later and while there are no guarantees on a date for season 4, co-creator Dan Harmon has alluded to the fact that breaks between forthcoming seasons will be much shorter. Let's hope so! But ultimately if fans want to see new episodes, they will have to wait until the folks at StarBurns studios are good and ready to release them.
