ADR, or Automated Dialogue Replacement, is a process used in filmmaking and video production where dialogue is re-recorded in post-production to improve audio quality or reflect changes to the script. Actors watch the footage and match their dialogue to the lip movements and expressions on screen. This process is often used to replace dialogue recorded on set that may have been affected by background noise, poor mic placement, or other technical issues.
