How G2 got ANNIHILATED in their first loss in the LEC
In week 2 of the LEC this split, G2 was handedly given their first loss by SK. and I think it was mainly due to draft - let’s break it down. Draft starts off pretty normal until G2 lock in Lulu R3. What this does is twofold - it reveals to SK very early on that this is going to be on-hit Varus, removing that flexibility, and removes flexibility in how G2’s comp can function overall in fights. When paired with a non engage jungler, it’s very easy for SK to reveal a front to back meatball comp in B4 B5. With not enough slots left in mid top to craft a comp to counter, SK get away with a comp that forces G2 to engage into them without any engage tools. G2 could try poking out SK but with the Lulu locked in, it disincentivizes Varus to do so. Overall, very unplayable draft and something to consider for next time.
