PowerPoint with MS SQL Server data
Use DataPoint for PowerPoint to link information of your Microsoft SQL Server to your PowerPoint presentation. When you open your presentation, you are always looking at the latest information, no mistakes possible, no update delays. Run your slideshow and the information is updated in real-time. Or generate statistics with our snapshot presentations.
First click DataPoint and then the Connections list button. Select Microsoft SQL Server and click Add connection. Enter the servername, username and password and select the database to connect to. Done. Now give a meaningful name to the connection and click the add query button.
Let’s select some sample table and set the refresh rate to 30 seconds. So every 30 seconds, DataPoint will update the information on your slides automatically with the latest information. Set a query name and you see a preview of the data at the bottom of this form.
Ready. Now select a text box and open its linking properties. Choose the data query that you want to use. Select a column like this and leave the row number at 1. Now the value of the database is dynamically linked to this textbox.
Repeat these steps for the other text boxes here on this slide and link them to other columns or other rows of our data.
Now when done, start the slideshow and every 30 seconds you can see an update on your data.
