Since the mid-1990s, Eyal Press has worked as a freelance journalist and book author, focusing on issues of social justice. In 2012, his second book, Beautiful Souls, a study of what impels some people to defy unjust or illegal orders, was published. The book has been selected for the common reading program at numerous universities, including Brown in 2013. Here Press discusses why he became a journalist and some of the challenges he has faced over the years.
