A How To demonstration video on using grass instead of purchasing and setting up a studio style green screen for video special effects. Green screen (or blue screen) and ChromaKey can be tedious and expensive to setup and may not be worthwhile if you are only going to use it a few times. A mediocre but functional and cost-saving alternative is to use grass on a sunny day. Just watch out for weed as some weeds may cause irritation. The more even the color of the grass the better. Of course you'll still need video editing software that can handle chromakey and picture-in-picture.

Software used: Pinnacle Studio Plus 10. Most other commercial video editing software applications (Corel, Sony Vegas, Adobe Elements of those I've read) have green screen editing capabilities in fact I believe it is or should be a standard. I heard Apple iMovie has it which is awesome because it is free i.e. comes with Apple. I don't think Windows Movie Maker has the functionality readily available.

P.S. There's a cool disappearing magic trick you you can do too using green screen as demonstrated at the end of the video.

P.P.S. I just realized how the example is a full body green screen - something difficult or impossible without some serious material! ^^
