Raise the Titanic in 2021? Playing a vintage 1987 Titanic board game from Hoyle: A brief overview
This is a high level look at the 1987 game "Raise the Titanic" from Hoyle. I have had this game since I was a kid. It is a bit obscure, maybe a little rare, now in 2021, but it still holds up well. This is a fantastic and fun game for any Titanic fan that likes board games. The cool part about it is that it is vintage, and not retro, being originally released in 1987 just a few years after the wreck was initially discovered in 1985 and long before the modern fascination that came for so many Titanic fans with the 1997 film Titanic...
So playing this is like traveling back to the 1980's before much was known about the wreck, when so much was left to the imagination, perhaps a simpler time.
This video will show you what to expect in the box, a little bit (but not all) of the rules and basic object of the game. This video will show the full 1 & 1/2 hours of game play that occured when we played (we played until we had a winner) in time-laspe with a few real time game action sequences. This video is not intended to be a "how to" video or "real time game play" video. It is just a high level overview so you can see what this great game is about.

For the record this game is not connected to the Movie or Book "Raise The Titanic" but I do recommend the movie, and even more so the book. Where the movie ends the book is just getting started... the movie left much of the second part of the book's story out - so there is much more to that story - (I won't give it away) so I highly encourage you to read the book as well as watch the movie. Both are fantastic!!!
