For a very long time whenever I thought of idols or idolatry, I always thought of worshiping the golden calf like the Israelites did. This of course is a form of idolatry however it is only one of many forms of idolatry. The idols we worship, while failing to notice them as such, are honestly far worse than the golden calf. These seemingly small and innocuous idols are perfect examples of the flaxen cords as described in 2 Nephi 26:22 that bind us until it is everlastingly too late.
