Networking Principles for Medical Devices – Layer 1-3
This presentation is designed to help attendees better understand practical information about the media (layer 1) used for devices
to communicate and the inherent benefits and limits of their use in hospital environments. Topics will also include a review of layer 2 to include virtual LANs and spanning tree protocol. An introduction to layer 3 will also be discussed in the use of multicast and TCP sockets across the wide area networks in hospitals.
