Side Scan Sonar
This is an excellent example of what can be accomplished when pole mounting a Side Scan Sonar for use in shallower water. In this example, the water depth is between 20 - 30 ft deep, with submerged obstacles in the form of vehicles, boats, and trees. Pole mounting allows you to operate in shallower waters than would be ordinarily possible by towing. It reduces the chance of losing the sonar due to tow cable entanglement or damaging the sonar due to striking the bottom.
