BMW M140i Handling & Power Package with Wavetrac LSD, M4 LCA, Underbody Brace & RSS Stage 1 Software
Are you looking to improve the handling, traction and acceleration of your BMW M140i? This is the best place to start.
First up the Wavetrac LSD solves the BIGGEST weakness of the stock BMW M140i, the open differential. The problem with the open differential is that once one wheel begins to slip, all power is sent to this wheel, which is freely spinning. This causes the electronic systems to pulse the brakes to slow the freely spinning wheel and with the electronic systems off, allows the wheel to spin freely until you regain traction. Both slow and enjoyment killing ways to drive a performance car.
In contrast, the Wavetrac LSD smoothly and constantly biases power across the rear axle and to the wheel with the most grip. It does this much better than any other helical/gear based differential on the market thanks to its patented design too and thanks to this, no other helical/gear based LSD can perform the same.
Second up the Subframe Brace reinforces the rear subframe to reduce the often complained about 'floaty' rear-end of the M140i. With the subframe braced, it moves around substantially less delivering a hugely improved feeling.
At the front axle the RSS M4 Lower Control Arm kit is installed, these lower control arms add more negative front camber. This is the cure for the weak front axle grip on these cars, with more negative camber the bigger the tyre contact patch when cornering which improves the front axle grip dramatically. A perfect compliment to the two other upgrades!
With the handling and traction issues solved, it was time to increase the power and torque output. The RSS Stage 1 Custom ECU Software optimises fuelling, ignition, boost and many other maps inside the ECU to improve horsepower, torque and driveability. With this tune being on 95 RON fuel, the output is limited vs. 98 RON.
