How to Blur a Face in DaVinci Resolve

Blurring a face in DaVinci Resolve involves a few steps using the Fusion or Color page. Here's a step-by-step guide:

1.Add the Video to the Timeline: Import your video and drag it to the timeline.

2.Open Fusion Page: Select the clip in the timeline and go to the Fusion page.

3.Add a Tracker Node:
In the Fusion page, press Shift + Space to bring up the Select Tool menu.
Search for "Tracker" and add it to your node graph.
Connect the Tracker node to your media input.

4.Track the Face:
In the Inspector panel, adjust the tracker settings.
Position the tracker box over the face you want to blur.
Click on "Track Forward" to track the movement of the face throughout the clip.

5.Add a Blur Effect:
Press Shift + Space again and add a "Gaussian Blur" or "Blur" node.
Connect the output of the Tracker node to the input of the Blur node.
Connect the output of the Blur node to the media output.

6.Apply the Blur:
In the Blur node's settings, increase the blur amount until the face is sufficiently obscured.

7.Masking (if needed):
If the blur affects more than just the face, add an Ellipse Mask to the Blur node.
Position and adjust the mask to cover only the face area.
Link the mask to the tracker to ensure it follows the face.

Alternative Method in Color Page:
1.Open Color Page: Select the clip in the timeline and go to the Color page.
2.Add a Window: In the Window panel, add a circular or polygonal window to cover the face.
3.Track the Window: Use the Tracker panel to track the window to the movement of the face.
4.Add Blur: In the Blur panel, increase the blur radius to obscure the face.

By following these steps, you can blur a face in DaVinci Resolve efficiently.
