This video covers how to give your car a basic wash and dry at home, safely - Ideal if you have had your car detailed, ceramic coated or had Paint Protection Film (PPF) applied.
While there are millions of other videos on YouTube of how to do this, I feel many are too convoluted, and go on about all sorts of nonsense, that don't matter in the real world. you must walk around the car in a clockwise direction and pray to the gods etc.
This is the first in a series of videos designed to give no nonsense, completely independent detailing advice by a team with over 20 years of hands on experience , who have held virtually all major ceramic coating company accreditations over the years
There is no talk of a 6 bucket 42 step safe wash here; just clear, concise advice as to how to care for your car
In written steps, it's basically as below
Don't wash in direct sunlight or very hot temperatures
Use 3 buckets
1 for wash shampoo, with grit guard
1 for rinse , with grit guard
1 for wheels (do not use the wheel bucket for the body of the car)
1x Microfibre wash mitt (or lambswool or other material of your choice)
Microfibre drying towel !
No chamois, no water blades!
Wash the wheels first ideally, although if you rather not, it's not the end of the world. No harm done.
Ideally if you have soft water / 0 TDS water / Deinoised / Reverse osmosis water, you can skip the drying step completely. This is the best way if possible, but is not always practical.
