We SOLVED The Strange House Mystery (maybe)
In October of 2010, a user uploaded a video where they discovered a strange house that they did not build in Minecraft Alpha. This kickstarted a mystery that lasted for nearly 15 years.

CORRECTIONS AND CLARIFICATIONS:
The glitch is replicated most consistently if level.dat is closed (inaccessible to Minecraft). However, I have been able to get it to work with level.dat being read-only, but it's more tenuous.
