New TKE Evolution 200 MRL Traction Elevators - Embassy Suites Resort - Panama City Beach, FL
This is the brand new Embassy Suites Resort in Panama City Beach, located adjacent to Pier Park and the Calypso Resort. Despite this being one of the newer Embassy Suites Hotels, even though it doesn't have an atrium, it does have a courtyard in the center where the pool is located. The amenities at this facility are very well designed, and definitely reflect the "resort" feel.
This hotel has two banks of elevators: one main, and one auxiliary. They're both TKE Evolution 200 and are very nice, efficient, and smooth. They do make some noises commonly seen on an Evo200, but in my opinion, this adds character. Well done Hilton!
One thing that I find very interesting about this location is that it seems to directly compete with a lot of the short-term rentals, unlike other nearby hotels. Short-term vacation rentals often have much larger rooms and more abundant amenities, offering a much different experience than a traditional name-brand resort would. I do wonder if similar properties will appear nearby. Marriott is already taking advantage of this with TownePlace, Residence Inn, and SpringHill nearby.
To my comment, the number "55" often tends to appear in lots of places in my life, and I can't seem to explain why. Vue55, the rooftop observation deck and bar, is just one example.
