SQL On The Edge #13 – Cosmos DB Request Units
Cosmos DB is a NoSQL Database as a Service offering on Microsoft Azure for highly scalable global workloads. The service does not utilize the concept of nodes or any hardware but instead allows provisioning resources through "Request Units".
Request Units are deterministic and can be scaled up or down very fast. Having a good understanding of the service will also allow you to tweak and tune the configuration to your advantage and decrease your request unit cost to achieve more throughput at the same price.
