Sesame Street - Sneak Peek Previews - Five Dancers (1984)
I'm giving this summer five Phooeys! No movies for the near future for me (our biggest theatre chain, Cineplex, is not enforcing masks, while I see the US firm, AMC, has changed their mind and will be), so I'll have to enjoy my movies vicariously. From 1984, Oscar the Grouch (Caroll Spinney) and Telly Monster (Brian Muehl) review "Subtraction Five Dancers", a film where five dancers are removed from the scene one by one. The series of sketches were called "Sneak Peek Previews", a parody of film critics Roger Ebert (1942-2013) and Gene Siskel's (1946-1999) syndicated hit series, "Sneak Previews", where we learned the real value of a thumbs up long before Facebook came along. Bonus videos include the original version of this and the "5 On Stage" dancer videos from Captain HD (aka Jim Talbot). Produced in Chicago, the chorus girls were members of the touring production of "No, No Nanette".
