Project Overview
• Project Name: Hindon River Bridge between Noida Sector 146–147 and Greater Noida Knowledge Park-III
• Executing Agency: Uttar Pradesh State Bridge Corporation (UPSBCL)
• Authorities Involved: Noida Authority + GNIDA
• Location: Near Noida Expressway and Aqua Line Metro corridor
• Purpose: To create a direct link between Noida Expressway sectors and Greater Noida educational/institutional zones.
Exact Connectivity
The bridge will connect:
• Noida Sectors 146 & 147
• Noida-Greater Noida Expressway
• Aqua Line Metro corridor
• Greater Noida Knowledge Park-III
• LG Chowk / Pari Chowk access side
Right now, vehicles going from Sector 146 toward Greater Noida often need long detours through Pari Chowk or internal roads. This bridge is expected to reduce travel distance and congestion significantly.
Length & Road Details
According to reports:
• Main bridge length: approximately 290 meters
• Total connecting corridor including approach roads: around 2 km+
• Connected with a 45-meter-wide road on Noida side
• Approach roads are also being developed on both ends.
Cost of the Project
Initial reports in 2019 mentioned:
• Estimated project cost: around 62 crore
• Cost shared jointly by Noida Authority and GNIDA.
Construction Timeline
Original Timeline
• MoU signed: 2017
• Foundation laid by CM Yogi Adityanath: January 2019
• Initial completion target: September 2020
Why It Got Delayed
The project faced several hurdles:
• Land acquisition issues
• Delay in approach roads
• Utility shifting
• Coordination between Noida and Greater Noida authorities
• Slow execution pace
By September 2024, only around 30% work was reportedly completed. UPSBCL sought an 18-month extension.
Expected Completion
Recent reports indicate:
• The bridge and approach roads may become operational around April 2026 if work progresses as planned.
Why This Bridge Is Important
This bridge can become a major alternative route because it will:
• Reduce pressure on Pari Chowk routes
• Improve connectivity for expressway residents
• Help students and institutions in Knowledge Park area
• Benefit future residential projects in Sector 146/147/150
• Provide faster movement toward Ghaziabad and eastern NCR regions.
