Recently, a video went viral on social media of junior high school students buying shoes for their friend.
The friend's shoes were torn and faded.
The students, who are 8th-grade students at SMPN 3 Kota Tasikmalaya, chipped in to buy the shoes.
They were willing to set aside money to buy their friend's shoes.
Yandi (who was bought the shoes for) admitted he couldn't afford shoes; even his family was struggling to afford food.
However, education came first for him, and Yandi's friends chipped in between Rp 35,000 and Rp 50,000.
According to Rafi, the initiator of the fundraising, Yandi had been wearing the torn shoes for a long time.
Shoes were also donated to Nasiha, who received them because hers were torn.
The principal of SMP N 3 Tasikmalaya, Budi Rosa Karyana, admitted to being moved and proud because, approaching his retirement, he received the most beautiful gift: children with hearts of gold.
