Hi everyone! This is Top 3D Shop and in this video we will tell you about the latest Anycubic Photon S resin 3D printer.
The first generation of Photon LCD quickly gained popularity among 3D printing enthusiasts. Practical when it comes to work and maintenance, consuming little resources and, most importantly, inexpensive, these resin printers were among the most interesting budget models last year.
Two months ago the developers announced the upgraded version – Anycubic Photon S. The design was slightly changed. The new machine is primarily made of plastic. This reduced the weight of the device by 1.5 pounds.
The print volume of Photon S only slightly exceeds the volume of the original model, but the new machine has other innovations that make printing more accurate and stable. The developers equipped it with two linear rails for the Z-axis. This increases the accuracy and stability of printing, significantly reduces the likelihood of wobbling, an issue evident in the original Photon.
The platform is built of anodized aluminum. Such a surface improves the adhesion, which makes the workpiece more steady during the printing process.
A UV-LED LCD screen projects light right into a resin vat located above. Anycubic Photon S was equipped with an upgraded UV module: all diodes in the matrix are fitted with focusing lenses. This reduces the likelihood of excessive light diffusion, where UV light “leaks” to the resin outside of spot it is supposed to be setting and damages the print.
Platform is calibrated with a single tuning knob - just like the original Photon printer. Fast, simple and practical.
Anycubic LCD printers can work with a wide range of consumables. Both Photon S and its predecessor work perfectly with resins from different manufacturers. All you have to do is choose the correct operating mode for your device.
To prepare digital models for printing, the developers suggest using the Photons Workshop slicer. Judging by the interface, this is a remastered version of the popular ChiTu control system.
To work with Anycubic Photon S you don’t need a persistent connection to your computer - 3D-printer is ready to work with just a USB-flash drive.
The second generation of Photon is equipped with a renovated touchscreen control display. The user interface has also been improved.
The new Photon features the improved air purifier. Two active carbon filters are installed at the base of the working chamber. This reduces the amount of dangerous volatile resin fractions when the 3D printer is running. The noise level of resin printers is generally low. This model is no exception.
The Anycubic Photon S is supplied fully assembled and ready for work. You can start printing immediately after unpacking thanks to the excellent set of equipment: a tool pack, USB-flash drive, a 250 milliliter bottle of resin, a spare FEP film, holes for resin drainage, a set of disposable gloves and protective respirator masks.
