Within the scope of a research project, we equipped a commercial minimally-invasive simulator with patient-specific mitral valve models made from silicone such that surgeons can plan and train individual techniques for mitral valve reconstruction (e.g. ring annuloplasty, leaflet resection). The video also shows patient-individualized mitral valve annuloplasty rings for repair surgery. All components have been printed with a low cost 3D printer. The silicone valves were casted using an automatically generated 3D printable mold.
