DIOR REVEALS IT WILL PAY €2M EUROS TO PEOPLE WHO INVESTED IN DIOR BONDS! DIOR SADDLE BAG, DIOR BOOK TOTE + DIOR NOTEBOOK CHIT CHAT!
Christian Dior SE is the posh holding name for the company that organizes Dior’s financial affairs. While we all know Dior is part of LVMH, Dior actually has a complicated corporate finance structure that shows how unique and different it is compared to other brands within the LVMH portfolio. In late February, Dior announced that it would be paying out more than €1,900,000 Euros in interest to investors who purchased Notes. In financial speak, these investors are known as noteholders. A note is essentially a type of debt that a company will issue where they borrow money from you and promise to pay you with interest on a specific date. Notes and bonds are terms used interchangeably though they are a little different. Dior issued notes in 2016 and they promised to repay all noteholders in 2021 WITH interest.
The original principal amount is actually €350M Euros! So Dior will be repaying that sum + the interest which they owe to noteholders. They said the interest will be €1.9M+ Euros, almost €2M in total. For the people who were savvy enough to lend Dior money in 2016, they will be repaid with interest in mid-March around the 24 March 2021.
Dior quietly announced this massive news on their Dior financial website. I noticed it and thought I would share this news with you + my analysis and why I think it is relevant to people who shop from Dior. I am very much a proponent of shopping & saving so I will continue to share the financial side of luxury shopping brands for as long as you are interested.
