The UAZ Hunter (315195) of Mikhail Altukhov and Boris Borovkov may not look much different from the stock model, but in reality, it's quite different. Only the bodywork is similar to the standard Hunter, and even that has undergone numerous modifications.
Indeed, if you were to disassemble this UAZ, it would be difficult to find anything that wasn't unique. The custom-made three-liter engine alone is worth mentioning.
The five-speed transmission and transfer case of this vehicle were modified by specialists from the UAZ factory rally-raid team. The frame was designed and reinforced to handle the kinematics of the sports suspension and the enormous loads. The axles and suspension mounting points have also been reinforced, with two shock absorbers per wheel. These aren't just any shock absorbers, of course, but ones made specifically for motorsports.
