The Police has always been one of my favorite bands.
Not only because of their songs and composition skills but also because of their tremendous talent and abilities as individuals. Even though I’m not a drummer I remember myself stacked in front of my computer during my teenage years watching, non stop, a live version of “Walking on the moon” live at Kyoto in which Stewart Copeland plays his usual fills just like who plays with a toy… Andy Summers rearmonazing some of the bridge chords and Sting singing like a beast while he keeps with the bass line. Still to this day, amazes me...I still go sometimes and I check the same video once in a while.
This is how the idea of doing my version started last week. This is basically what we could call a cover or version but applying some of the embellishments that I love to do like solo lines during certain passages and rearmonizing a few chords.
Hope you enjoy, once more, my humble attempt.
Thanks.
B.Bob.
