Taking the first steps into building a full melee combat system from scratch in Unreal Engine 5! ⚔️
In this update, I'm setting up the foundational animation logic. I’ve integrated a full 8-way directional walking matrix to keep movement fluid while locking onto targets, alongside snappy directional dodge/dash behaviors. I also started building out the animation states for standard weapon attacks and defensive blocking blocks to lay down the groundwork for responsive frame-data tuning and hit registration later on.
