I drove my Zhiguli into a huge snowdrift, nose deep in it. The wheels were spinning, the car was spinning, and I knew I couldn't get out on my own. I stood there, wondering what to do, and then I saw a bulldozer coming down the road. What a stroke of luck! I stopped it, walked up to the driver, and asked, "Dad, can you help me pull this out?"
The driver looked at my rusty Zhiguli and immediately warned, "God forbid it falls apart!" I assured him, of course, "Grandpa, let me be responsible. Just pull it." He sighed, "Well, just watch out..."
He took out a strong tow rope, tied it to my bumper, climbed into the bulldozer, and stepped on the gas. And then something happened that I'll never forget: the Zhiguli literally broke in two!
The front half remains in the snowdrift, while the bulldozer calmly pulls the rear half out, as if it were a trailer.
The driver gets out, looks at the result, and says, "You need to listen to your elders!" Then he adds, "Come on, get in here with me, or you'll freeze here."
