Teachers often face culturally and politically sensitive issues in multilingual adult EFL classrooms, but research shows that they receive little guidance in how to deal with them, instead having to rely on their intuition and common sense. These days it is more difficult than ever to avoid such issues, even though they are less likely to be raised in course books, so it is important that teachers have the tools and strategies to be able to deal with them and turn them into positive learning experiences.
We will explore attitudes and strategies for dealing with issues like these in diverse classrooms.
