HOW TO USE AUTO TUNE LIVE W/ ABLETON LIVE + UAD
Hello, thanks for checking out the video I will list the items needed and the quick steps if you want me to just get to the freaking point.
ITEMS:
1) UAD APOLLO TWIN (OR ANY UAD HARDWARE THAT USES PLUGINS)
2) MAC COMPUTER
3) ABLETON LIVE 12 (other version might work but 12 is what i'm using)
4) UAD CONSOLE (hint: it's free download it from the UNIVERSAL AUDIO site)
5) IAC DRIVER ( it's on you computer type AUDIO MIDI SETUP in the help bar)
6) AUTOTUNE ( it must be a UAD plugin ONLY)
STEPS:
AUDIO MIDI SETUP ( IAC DRIVER)
1) Type,"Audio midi setup" in the help bar of you MAC computer.
a. double click,"IAC driver"
b. go to window (top left) and click show midi studio
c. click device is online
d. make sure you have at least, "1 bus" PORT
UAD "CONSOLE"
1) PUT THE AUTOTUNE PLUGIN ON YOUR VOCAL CHANNEL
2) CHANGE THE PREFERENCES
EX: retune speed, key, scale etc...
3) WRITE DOWN THE NUMBERS YOU'VE ASSOCIATED THE retune speed, key, scale etc... to
ABLETON (arrangement view)
1) go to preferences and make sure your audio midi device is set to the IAC bus driver. Select all 3
2) close it
3) create midi track
4) change the midi track I/O to the IAC BUS DRIVER
5) double click on the MIDI CLIP YOU CREATED AND GO TO THE BOTTOM WINDOW THAT OPENED UP
6) make sure LOOP is selected
7) go to ENVELOPES
8) click in the box are and make sure you can see the curser
9) right next to midi Control you'll see a box in the middle and select the number that you changed in your autotune preferences.
10) CLICK AND DRAG THE LINE IN SIDE THAT BOX AND WATCH THE PERIMETERS CHANGE.
THAT'S IT!!!!
NOTE: CREATE A DIFFERENT MIDI TRACK FOR EACH SONG YOU HAVE, IT WILL CUT DOWN ON THE CONFUSION. THEN GROUP ALL THEM ONCE YOUR DONE.
