Lonesome Will Mullins : Wild Bill Jones
Lonesome Will Mullins, recorded live on the grounds of the Hills of Home festival at Dr. Ralph Stanley's place near Coeburn VA. We met Lonesome Will when he played in East Waterford PA, and he remembered us and made us feel like old pals. I told Lonesome Will that his version of "Wild Bill Jones" had been a highlight of the festival, and I was sorry I hadn't taped it - so he rounded up some nearby pickers and threw down an even better version just for us!
The guitar player behind Will is Tim Mullins and the guy to his left is Duran Dutton. Randy Dutton is on the upright bass. The banjo picker beside Will is John Bryan. He's picking a beautiful 1962 RB-250 bowtie belonging to the handsome, young, talented fiddle player - Tom Isaacs.
