This video provides instructions of the locations of the 2 (left/right) DISA (Differentiated Intake System Adjustment) Valve/Intake Manifold Actuator.
🔹 Location: It’s mounted on the intake manifold.
🔹 Function: The DISA valve adjusts the length of the intake runners (the air passages that deliver air to each cylinder).
🔹 Why: By changing the air path, it improves how the engine breathes at different RPMs:
• At low RPMs, the valve is closed, creating a longer air path → more torque.
• At high RPMs, the valve opens, creating a shorter path → more horsepower.
🔹 Common issues: The flap inside the valve can break or wear out, causing:
• Rough idle
• Loss of power, Lean Fuel Code(s)
• Rattling noise near the intake
• Check Engine Light (sometimes codes like P116E or mixture control faults).
