I tried to make the video not only interesting for viewers but also useful for glider pilots. What I'd like to point out:
01:20 Before takeoff, I hold the control stick all the way to the left ⬅. Why? Notice the string taped to the top of the windshield—it shows whether the glider is slipping in flight, and you should try to keep it level with the glider. But on the ground, while we're not accelerating, the string shows the wind near the glider. When the plane accelerates, its propeller creates a powerful air current💨, and the string on the windshield shows us where the wind will blow this current! In our case, the jet stream from the plane will be blown under the left wing console, which means there will be a stronger lift force there than on the right wing, and the glider will begin to bank to the right (the right wing will begin to touch the ground) - and in aviation, it is better to NOT ALLOW a dangerous situation than to allow it and then correct it. So, at the start, immediately hold the handle in the direction the string is pointing 😉
