The tutorial is a way to implement topology transfer or sort of softwrap with the deformers inside Maya.
This is not a replacement solution for wrap 3d but a way to get similar result inside Maya with native tools.
The workflow can be adapted to any software with similar deformers available.
The scan and base mesh used in tutorial is freely available to download.
