This video essay covers sports broadcasting and the advancements NFL networks made during the 2020 COVID season. Unlike other leagues, the NFL played their full season and broadcasted every game with equipment being moved around at 30 different NFL stadiums. Those stadiums having limited or no crowds were often empty with sometimes the broadcast of the game being the only way to watch the sports which led to new advancements and programs that networks ran to boost fan engagement. Being the most contact heavy team sport, networks had to make changes in order to keep both network teams and players as socially distanced as possible. I aimed to look at what changes networks made to these conflicts posed and see what elements are still used today 5 years after the pandemic.
