A combination of Low thermal resistance, low Vf, and high flux enables customers to meet their efficacy goals, such as meeting DLC Premium. Additionally, for applications where high drive current is essential, LUXEON V2 has the added benefit of having a maximum drive current of up to 2.4A.
LUXEON V2’s optical design is optimized to follow the Lambertian curve making it easy for the optics to collect the light, providing the most usable system light out of the fixture. Competitive offerings have a broader radiation pattern which means the LED loses ~3-5% of the flux when in a system.
LUXEON V2 also has far superior color over angle. Color over angle impacts the quality of light. Good color over angle gives a smooth clean beam free of halos or color artifacts across the beam. Poor color over angle results in varied colors across the beam such as the greenish hues and a very poor quality of light.
