"Georgia on My Mind" was written in 1930 by Hoagy Carmichael. The 1960 recording by Ray Charles, a native of Georgia, was a major hit. Willie Nelson 1978 version was a #1 Country/Western hit. The song became the Georgia state song in 1979. In 2003, Rolling Stone magazine named "Georgia on My Mind" the 44th greatest song of all time.
