Yes: They are a plus... especially when they seem honest, legit and comes from someone you've worked with before (especially a manager, HR, Lead or CEO)
No: Even if you have 100 recommendations. If you're not what the recruiter or company is looking for, then you won't get hired. If you failed the Interview, Assessment or your English is horrible, recommendations won't save/help you
When asking for recommendations, make sure to ask your current or former CEO, Manager, HR, Lead or a senior in the company. Being recommended by someone who is/was above you in the company is a big deal.
How do I get a recommendation?
Go to your LinkedIn Profile, scroll down to Recommendations
You'll see an option to ask anyone for recommendations or give someone else recommendations
You have to ASK for it, most of the time. If you don't ask, your manager or co-worker might not view your profile and give you
