Harajuku, Takeshita Street.
In the back of this bustling area,
Jack's, a rockabilly shop that has been in business for over 25 years, is located.
Opened in 1994.
Based on 1950s American and British culture,
it is a famous Harajuku shop that offers everything from vintage clothing to original items.
The store is divided into two main spaces.
On the left side, you'll find new items that complement 1950s fashion, as well as items from the original brand Jumpin' Jacks, which are reproductions based on vintage pieces.
The products, which capture the atmosphere of the era while being adapted into styles that can be worn today, are unique to Jack's, a brand with a deep understanding of 1950s culture.
On the right side, you'll find vintage clothing, mainly from the 1950s.
These items, imbued with the authentic atmosphere of the time, give you the feeling of stepping back in time just by being in the store.
Owner Elvis Sato is a person deeply fascinated by 1950s American culture.
Utilizing his knowledge and experience, he also engages in activities that connect rockabilly culture to the present day, such as directing reproduction items and collaborating with artists.
"Rockabilly is my way of life," he says.
As these words suggest, the store is not just a vintage clothing store; culture itself breathes within it.
Many band members are regulars, and music and culture naturally intersect within the shop.
You'll find items you can only find here, such as CDs brought in by customers and pomades and combs created in collaboration with Guitar Wolf.
It's a place where you can experience the 1950s itself, going beyond the realm of vintage.
