SDXC was released in 2009 by the SD Association to meet the demands of full 1080P HD recording. The SDXC memory card has the same dimensions as the SD and SDHC cards, but is only compatible with devices supporting SDXC. The Ultra High Speed (UHS) communication bus specification was also introduced in 2009 and has grown to three options: UHS-I, UHS-II and UHS-III. UHS makes moving massive amounts of data between an SD memory card and host device faster.
