A Miao Village Beneath Thousand-Year-Old Cedar Trees, Beautiful Beyond This World
Explore Getou, a peaceful and ancient Miao village hidden deep within the valleys of Leigong Mountain in Guizhou Province, China.
Here, lush forests blanket the mountains, while clear streams weave through the landscape. In the heart of the village stands a magnificent bald cypress tree that is over 1,500 years old, a natural wonder that should not be missed. A crystal-clear mountain stream flows through the village, while traditional Miao stilt houses cling to the slopes on both sides of the valley. Together with ancient trees, elegant rooflines, and layered mountain ridges, they create a scene that looks like a classic Chinese landscape painting.
From late spring to early summer, azaleas bloom throughout the valley. Following the stream leads to a hidden waterfall tucked away at the end of the valley. Winding footpaths, riverside vegetable gardens, elderly villagers at work, and the peaceful atmosphere of the mountains combine to create a dreamlike rural landscape.
This is a place that reminds us that tranquility, simplicity, and harmony still exist in a rapidly changing world.
