Quitting social media can feel liberating at first. But for many people, it also creates an unexpected sense of loneliness and disconnection. In this video, I explore the psychology behind that feeling, why it happens, and why it may actually be a sign that something deeper in your social life needs attention.
I also want to say this clearly: loneliness can be serious, and mental health should always be taken seriously. But in this video, I also try to explore another side of loneliness. Not only as something painful, but as a signal. A kind of motor. Something that can point us toward what we are missing, what we long for, and what we may need to build in our lives.
For a long time, loneliness felt paralyzing to me. Like nobody really cared. But over time I realized that wasn’t actually true. I was missing something deeper, connection, meaning, direction. And I didn’t begin understanding that until I stopped escaping the feeling and started exploring it instead.
This is not just about deleting apps. It’s about understanding what constant digital connection may be replacing in the first place, and what might exist on the other side of it.
All it takes is a drop of curiosity to change your life.
