"Sacrifice of Tradition" (Guitar Remix/Cover)
By Ilan Eshkeri & Shigeru Umebayashi from the Ghost of Tsushima Soundtrack.
Aside from being a great game, this is probably my favorite soundtrack and score for any video game I can think of. Epic... Beautiful... Tense... Magnificent...
This is about 1/4 of the song that represents the crescendo of the game. There is a thematic melody that runs through most of the compositions and I can't get enough of it.
The thing is, from the first time I heard it, all I could think of is that this should have Marty Friedman playing on it. Aside from reminding me of my favorite song of those that he's covered in his Tokyo Jukebox albums, It just seems like it was made for a guitar-centric remix and I swear I could practically hear him playing from the very first time I listened.
So, I did my best to try to get what I was hearing in my head into a recording. It doesn't sound like him at all (LOL), but it does remind me of somebody doing a voice impression of somebody that isn't very good, but you can still tell who they're trying to do an impression of. (Again, LOL).
My sincerest hope is that somehow Marty hears this version I have made, cringes, and resigns himself to doing a proper recording just to prove that his version would be vastly superior. I would be very happy with that. I think most people be very happy with that.
In the meantime, please enjoy this small section I have completed and am as satisfied with as I will likely be. I promise the mix sounds much better when you don't listen to it on a phone, for the record... Enjoy!
#Haffast 🤘🏻🎸🎵
#MartyFriedman , if you happen to hear this, please feel free to record a much better version. Tokyo Jukebox 3 bonus track maybe? Please and thank you.
