Dear friends!
On this beautiful day, May 9th, and in anticipation of the release of the flight simulator "IL-2: Korea" from 1c Game Studios, the "Virtual Pilot" team had the opportunity to visit the developers, see the rising sun over Korea in VR goggles, try out the FFB device from Moza, take a few minutes away from the very busy development team, and interview the project's producer, Daniil a.k.a. Han, who answered our questions and talked about the development process in its final stages.
Special thanks to Alexander "7IAP_IRBIS" Gorbachenko for organizing the interview.
A NEW ERA OF AVIATION – A NEW ERA OF COMBAT FLIGHT SIMULATORS
"Korea" is the next stage in the development of the IL-2 games. Unprecedented detail
is combined with the series' traditional balance of simulation and accessibility. The game
is being developed on a new engine, which ensures highly detailed damage and
reliable Simulation of physical processes.
The Korean War was a unique period in history. The first jet fighters
achieved speeds impossible for piston-engined aircraft, but cannons and machine guns remained the primary
weapons—the art of maneuverable aerial combat reached its peak.
Eight legendary aircraft, all controllable, have been meticulously recreated based on drawings,
historical photographs, manuals, and museum specimens. All instruments and sights in
the cockpits function just like their real counterparts.
The largest map in the history of the Il-2 series, with historical accuracy,
reconstructs dozens of airfields, hundreds of towns and villages, ports and dams, and a rich
transport infrastructure.
