The outside features of the solid-state Kitchen Armor design include passive cooling through a large heat sink on top, an aluminum alloy casing, and a twist lock on the power connector for added security. All cables are on the same side when used as a controller, and the modern design incorporates legacy ports and connectors such as USB 3.0, USB 2.0, USB-C, HDMI, LAN, and audio in/out. Additionally, the design includes legacy VGA and 9-pin serial (RS232) connectors.
