We’ll discuss We Need To Build: Field Notes For Diverse Democracy, Patel’s new book, an inspiring vision of America as a diverse democracy, and a guide for how to build the institutions that make that vision reality.
We’ll also discuss his recent widely-shared New York Times piece, What I Want My Kids to Learn About American Racism which makes the case, “….responsible citizenship in a diverse democracy is not principally about noticing what’s bad; it’s about constructing what’s good.”
Patel believes that those working to achieve social change must evolve — especially those charged with communicating about this work.
