How to Make a Custom Stream Pet for Your Twitch Stream
I created my own custom stream pet, and in this video I’ll show you the entire process—from planning the character and commissioning the animations to setting everything up in OBS and Streamer.bot.
Meet Mugsy Brewster, or Mugs for short: a custom pixel-art jackalope who lives on my stream, drinks coffee, reacts to viewers, celebrates special events, and helps make the stream feel more alive.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to:
Plan your stream pet’s character, personality, and purpose
Decide which animations your pet needs
Hire a pixel animator through Fiverr
Add animated GIFs to OBS
Control the animations with Streamer.bot
Trigger reactions from follows, subscriptions, commands, and more
Build a stream pet that feels like part of your channel
You don’t necessarily need to commission an artist to create something like this. You could potentially make your own stream pet animations using AI, Canva, or other design tools. Let me know in the comments if you’d like to see a future video about that process.
