Hey friends, in today's short video I will show you exactly how to disable Protected View in Microsoft Excel or Word so you never have to click "Enable Editing" every time you open a downloaded or emailed file. Protected View keeps files read-only for security, but if you trust your sources, turning it off saves tons of time. Just open Excel or Word, click the "File" tab, select "Options," then go to "Trust Center" and hit "Trust Center Settings". Now click "Protected View" on the left, and uncheck all three boxes: "Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet," "Enable for files located in potentially unsafe locations," and "Enable for Outlook attachments" before clicking "OK".
