Test Bench Used?
In this test suite, software such as Crystal Disk Mark, PCMark 10 (paid version), IOmeter, 3DMark, ATTO Disk Benchmark, Adobe Premiere will be used, in addition to using Final Fantasy XIV to test game loading times and Windows 10 and 11 boot times using Bootracer.
It is important to emphasize that any slight changes to the operating system, platform used (whether Intel or AMD), driver versions, chipset, processor model, motherboard model, or operating system versions may generate results that differ from those presented. Taking this into account, all specifications of the test bench used are listed below, with each test performed being measured three times and the average of each result used.
TEST BENCH
– Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (Build: 21H2) + Windows 11 Pro 64-bit (Build: 21H2)
– Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X (16C/32T) (Fixed frequency on all cores, 4 GHz)
– RAM Memory: 2 × 16 GB DDR4-3200MHz CL-16 Netac (with XMP)
– Motherboard: Gigabyte X570s Aorus Elite AX (BIOS Ver.: F5c) (Thanks Aorus Brazil)
– Video Card: RTX 3050 Gigabyte Gaming OC (Drivers: 512.xx) (Thanks Aorus Brazil)
– Storage (OS): SSD Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 4TB (Firmware: R4PB47.3)
– SSD tested: SSD SK Hynix Platinum P41 2TB (Firmware: 51060A20)
– AMD X570 Chipset driver version: 4.03.03.431.
– Windows: Indexing disabled to avoid affecting test results.
– Windows: Windows updates disabled to avoid affecting test results.
– Windows: Most Windows applications disabled from running in the background.
– Windows Boot Test: Clean image with only drivers and all updates.
– pSLC Cache Test: The SSD is cooled by fans to avoid thermal throttling, which could interfere with the result.
– Windows: Antivirus disabled to reduce variation in each run.
– SSDs Tested: Used as a secondary drive, with 0% space being used, and other tests with 50% space used to represent a realistic scenario.
