Ear Wax - Which Ear Drops are the best?
This video explains what ear wax is, What the different types of ear wax there are (flaky through to fudge type), why it is important, and how to remove it. I focus on why cotton buds are bad for your ear and explain the transport mechanism that draws ear wax out from the ear canals.
I discuss the various ways that ear wax is removed from the ears, including syringing, microsuction, and rarely surgical options.

I also perform an experiment where I put the different types of ear wax into 5 test tubes and then pour 10mls of different ear drops into each. I tested olive oil, hydrogen peroxide, sodium bicarbonate, EarCalm (acetic acid), and distilled water). I then watch the wax dissolve with a time lapse camera and see which drop is best for removing ear wax.
The results may surprise many people!
