Power BI Power Automate Quick Tip: Append Push Datasets in Real-time Based on a SQL Server Table
This video shows an illustration of how a Push dataset created inside Power BI Service can be appended close to real-time based on data appended to a on premise SQL Server table. The solution uses a Power Automate flow to add the rows to the Push dataset created inside Power BI Service and a report is created utilizing this Push dataset for analyzing the data. This scenario is mostly suited for low frequency low volume operational reporting based use cases to analyze the progress of background processes.
Things to note for implementation
1. The table should have a primary key defined
2. The Power BI dataset created should be a Push dataset
3. The data volume as well as the append frequency should be small to moderate in the database table
