The palatine bone (Latin: os palatinum) is a paired bone of the facial skull. It appears as an angled plate and lies in the posterior part of the nasal cavity, forming part of its floor (the hard palate) and lateral wall. A distinction is made between the horizontal and perpendicular plates.
